Craniosacral Therapy

I'm happy to share that I am now offering Craniosacral Therapy sessions. Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle technique of evaluating and enhancing the function of the craniosacral system, which is comprised of the membranes and fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. Restrictions are released and balance is restored, decreasing the effects of trauma, injury and stress, resulting in improved function of the central nervous system.

Craniosacral Therapy is an intensely relaxing treatment that can be beneficial in treating the following conditions, among others:

Migraines/headaches

chronic neck & back pain

chronic fatigue

fibromyalgia

stress and tension

TMJ syndrome

neurovascular and immune disorders

post-traumatic stress disorder

post surgical dysfunction

concussion and traumatic brain injury

This type of work can be highly effective whether you are having issues, or simply want to enhance the function and balance in your body. If you have ever had energy work done, such as Reiki, the experience can be somewhat similar, but varies between individuals and from session to session. My personal experience with receiving Craniosacral work has been extremely relaxing and insightful. I have, at times, experienced rapidly changing visions, similar to a stream-of-consciousness or dream-like state. I have also felt waves of energy in certain areas of my body as well as heat and temperature changes. The effects following treatments have included better, more restful sleep, a feeling of deep relaxation and calm, the release of tension and restrictions in my neck and jaw, decreased headaches, and a feeling of balance and less restriction in my sacrum and low back.

A typical session lasts approximately 60 minutes and the client remains clothed and lays face-up on the massage table. Craniosacral work can also be incorporated into your regular massage session, but in order to complete a full session, an hour is typically needed. However, it is easy to do some therapeutic work on any pain issues and follow that up with Cranio work in a 75 or 90 minute session.

If you have questions or wonder if this type of treatment could be beneficial for you or a family member, I'd be happy to talk with you. Please reach out at: saragresbach@gmail.com
