About True North Massage

The journey to Massage Therapy has truly been a quest to find myself, or what feels like my "True North."  I worked for many years in the medical field with an orthopedic population, until deciding to take some time off to start a family.  After my little ones were in school full-time, I wanted to connect with people again, but in a different way.  As an Occupational Therapist, I am trained to look at things from a holistic perspective, examine the "why" and attempt to restore function.  I couldn't see myself re-entering the medical field in the same context, and I had always dreamed of getting a license in Massage Therapy.

Little did I know, it would change my life in so many ways.  I am stronger, calmer, more joyful, more open-minded and healthier after fulfilling this dream.  The focus and goal of my Massage Therapy practice is to work along side my clients as they pursue the best version of themselves.  My background in rehab and interest in restoring function and eliminating pain gives me a unique perspective in the world of massage.

As the child of a teacher, I am driven by lifelong learning.  I am in constant pursuit of improving and expanding my offerings as a wellness practitioner, striving to bring an array of treatment options to my clients.  Since graduating from massage school, I have had further training in cupping, Myofascial release, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, Lymphatic massage, Reiki energy work, Craniosacral Therapy, Earseeds, Yomassage, and Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage.  See the Services page for more details about these offerings.

Whether your goals are stress-relief, more specific pain relief, simply escaping from life, or a combination of these things, I believe massage can have a positive effect.  Each treatment session is designed to meet your specific goals, on that specific day, because in reality, this can change from moment to moment.

It is my hope that you will invite me to be a part of your journey to find your "True North" through discovering the benefits of massage.  Improved sleep, decreased stress, decreased pain and muscle tightness, improved recovery time from injuries, improved mood and nervous system regulation are just a few of the benefits of massage.

Contact me today to discuss how we can work together to meet your wellness goals.
